Grandpa's Visit

This story was told to me by one of my aunts about 2 years ago.  My mother and I were visiting her, and we had started talking about the history of my father and grandfather's last name. (Ethier) For some reason later in the conversation, we got on the topic of ghosts, and she told us this story.

My grandmother passed away in Nov. of 1997.  My aunt was the only one who lived in the same city as her, so she was the one who took care of her while she was in the hospital.  My aunt said that about a week before my grandmother died, she was pulled aside by one of the nurses.  The nurse had asked her who the man was in the picture at my grandmother's bedside.  My aunt told the nurse that he was her dad (my grandfather). “Oh,” said the nurse. “He was here last night visiting your mother.”  My aunt told the nurse that that is impossible, since my grandfather died in Feb.1987, 10 years earlier.  The nurse said "I swear that your father was sitting in that chair watching your mother."

My aunt is still skeptical about the whole thing, but I am not. I do believe in ghosts, and I believe that my grandfather came for one last visit to say good-bye to my grandmother before she died.
