The creak of the hospital floors echoed through the wards, the slamming of doors and groaning of ill patients.  Flora Wilson, a nurse in the hospital, goes about her duties and is about to take a 5 minute break in the nurses lounge. "Come on Flora!" shouts her friend, who is just turning into the lounge. Flora picks up her pace to reach the lounge; the hospital scares her at night, even if she is a 30-something woman.
She’s nearly there when something catches her eye. Thinking she has just seen a patient out of bed and wandering about the wards, she shouts "Won’t be a moment!" and scurries off back down the long corridor to a ward that contains severely ill patients.  "Which one of you was out of bed this time?" she asked the patients who all seemed to be baffled by Flora's words. Her voice was stern though and she asked again "Which one of you was out of bed this time? I won’t ask again". The patients shook their heads and shrugged their shoulders at Flora. Then one speaks up: "None of us have gone anywhere tonight nurse Flora, honest. We can’t even move, we’re hooked up to monitors". Seeing that the patient was right, she blushed a burning red. "I saw someone walk in here though, just a few seconds ago". She said, the redness fading to a dull pink. She shrugged it off and apologized to the patients who all snuggled back down to sleep.  As Flora headed back down the long corridor, she felt a cold shiver run right down her spine; so bad it made the hairs on her arms stand up and her hands shake.  She turned around and there it was again! This time she got a better view of this person, woman actually. She was dressed in a nun outfit and seemed to float more than walk. Flora was naturally afraid, but being the curious lady she is, she decided to go and investigate. She entered the ward room again, but no one was in there, only the patients. Just as she was about to turn on her heels and race back to the nurse’s lounge, one of the monitors turned to a flat line; the elderly lady on the far side of the room was having a cardiac arrest. The elderly lady had befriended Flora during her time in the hospital. Flora turned and ran back to the lounge, coming back with a group of doctors and nurses, who managed to save her friend. Flora knew that the mysterious nun, who had led her to the ward room that night, had been trying to warn Flora that her friend would die if she didn’t go back into the room. The nun still walks the grounds of this hospital, and has been known to warn other nurses and save other patients.
