The Force on the Other Side Was Too Strong |
|
One night my sister’s friend, Daegan, came over to play. Around 10 o'clock that night I decided we should play 'hide-and-go-seek in the dark'. We played our own version which was for the hiders to hide in the bedrooms in pitch black darkness while the seeker waited in the bathroom next door until we screamed "READY!" and would have to look for the hiders in the bedroom. But also, to add a twist to the challenging game, the hiders would also bang walls, throw things, and make noises to try and scare the finder. Daegan and I were the hiders and we hid in my sister’s closet while she was in the bathroom waiting. After getting situated in the small closet we finally yelled for her to come find us. The closet was right next to the door where she would walk in to search for us so we could here the door-knob jiggle. Then, Daegan and I heard footsteps coming towards the door and the door-knob to the closet also began to turn but before it opened we both started banging on the door to scare my sister and prevent her from discovering us. After a minute we stopped and the door-knob turned again and Daegan and I looked at each other in shock thinking she would run away screaming because she's such a wuss and is afraid of everything. Now for the scary part, the door began to open and we were trying to pull it closed so it was like a game of tug-of-war at that point. Unfortunately, our arms were getting tired because the force on the other side was too strong and we had to let go. The door flew open and there was nothing there. Daegan and I screamed with fright as my sister ran in from another room saying, "WHAT, WHAT HAPPENED, WHAT'S THE MATTER?!" We told her the story and she too screamed because she had to sleep in the room this just occurred in. The next day Daegan came over and suggested we should try it again to see what would happen, but I refused. I was too afraid. Veronica, New Jersey
